We arrive at the years end. When this New Year's began January 1st 2025 at 12:00:01 the mood was festive. Revelers partied until dawn, drunk on anticipation of what the New Year's would bring, hungover off of the doubts and disappointments of the prior year. A new President was being inaugurated, ready to begin the second of his first term in office. A new president who promised he would always act in the "best interests" of America's families and children. A president who promised fiscal responsibility and an end to government waste and financial fraud. A new cabinet post was created and the illustrious Elon Musk was placed in charge. His task as the head of DOGE (The Department of Government Efficiency) was to find out and locate fraud, waste and mismanagement in government spending. He was given broad investigative powers and his reach extended across all agencies of government. His agency was off to an auspicious start and soon began discovering waste, fraud and inefficient spending in many federal agencies. His actions discovered billions of dollars being mismanaged and often outright stolen from public coffers. His agency set up an email address to the head of the Senate Committee overseeing DOGE to request citizens to contact that committee with information on any government agency consumers suspected of being inefficient in their spending or fraudulent in their actions. This National Union through it's National President contacted Mr. Musk's committee in January. We informed him of the fraud and waste inherent in the Department of Health and Human Services Child Protective Services System. That DOGE Senate Committee was given detailed information on how every child protective services system in this country unlawfully and unconstitutionally removes children from their parents every single day. We informed them of how wrong it was to remove children from homes in which they faced no harm and then placing them in homes where they are vulnerable and at higher risk of harm just so the state could receive federal funding from the Social Security Trust Fund was outright fraud. We informed them that the money given to foster parents to care for the taken children would go much further and cost much less if those funds were redirected to struggling families facing financial difficulties. The financial difficulties of paying rent, buying food and keeping the lights on along with caring for a family with children overwhelms parents is inefficient and becomes the major reason most children are removed from their parents and placed into CPS custody. This National Union also stated that the current system of paying foster parents instead of struggling birth parents to care for children was inefficient and led to the warehousing of children by many foster parents. We stated that those children unnecessarily removed from their parents and cut off from contact with all family members usually experience severe psychological traumas which in most cases leads to mental illnesses, drug addiction, homelessness and incarceration of those traumatized removed children when they became older. This Union reported these cash for kids removals and all of its effects caused irreparable harm to society and that it would eventually lead to more spending by society to address it. All of this and more are the effects of an inefficient and ineffective child protective services system. We made multiple requests for DOGE to investigate the child protective services system under the Department of Health and Human Services. Bonuses paid for quotas reached from children removed is not the way Americans want government to govern yet our requests were ignored and no action or investigation of fraud, inefficiency or waste in child protective services ever discovered. After a few headline grabbing investigations DOGE was disbanded their job complete, CPS intact. Then there was the president's appointment for the head of the Justice Department. Things looked very promising at the beginning of the year with many high-profile arrests across the nation of police officers committing unnecessary acts of violence against unarmed citizens. These officers some of whom committed murder during the course of their duties were promptly charged with federal Civil Rights violations and Depravation of Rights Under the Color of Law and imprisoned. This National Union through it's National President contacted the Justice Department and requested an investigation into the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families on behalf of a few of our Union Members in Massachusetts. The allegations we presented to the Justice Department involved perjury, fraud, kidnapping, child abuse, child neglect and deprivation of rights under the color of law. All of the facts and violations of law by Massachusetts CPS officials was clearly outlined in the complaint and contained dates of the crimes and the names of the individuals who committed them. The complaint was forwarded from the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division to the Department of Health and Human Services Civil Rights Division because according to the Justice Department that was the "appropriate" federal agency to handle the complaint. HHS was contacted by this Union, more information related to them then no action was taken. We then redirected the complaint back to the Justice Department because the Justice Departments "remedy" of forwarding the complaint to HHS offered no relief. Again no action has been taken. To date there has been no significant investigation of any CPS office in any state in America in spite of the many requests for investigation they receive from parents. Then there was the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr to head the Department of Health and Human Services the federal department with direct control over all CPS agencies in this country. Mr. Kennedy hails from one of America's most prestigious political families well known to be champions of social justice and on the side of the "common man". Mr. Kennedy's appointment was viewed by many as a signal that this new administration was determined to have someone who was actually "for the people" placed in a position where they could do the average person the most good. Mr Kennedy in one of his earliest public statements declared that the Department of Health and Human Services under the previous administration had acted unlawfully in wrongfully removing children from their parents. Mr. Kennedy remarked that the wrongfully removed children would be located and those wrongfully removed would be returned to their families. Millions of Americans who have suffered the cruel fate of having their children removed from them and placed in the care of strangers by HHS through CPS were hopeful that Mr Kennedy's comments included them. Sadly Mr Kennedy was only referring to the children wrongfully removed by CPS from aliens at the U.S. Border. Mr Kennedy's agency removed more than 500,000 U.S. children from their parents this year alone. The Department of Health and Human Services has done so every year since 1997. No mention has ever been made by Mr Kennedy of the removals done by the agency he heads which were unlawful, unconstitutional and unnecessary. Children everyday are removed from their parents for the most trivial of reasons and are thrown into a system designed for severely physically abused children. CPS has become a playground for parasites. Because of the mass amount of children needed to fuel it and the immense amount of funding it generates many injustices are ignored and many of the offenders who perpetuate fraud, harm and theft are excused. It seems that this government and it's agencies are intent on leaving CPS in it's current form unscathed and intact. The appointment of Mr Kennedy to head Health and Human Services ensuring his control of child protective services in this country may lead to his political undoing and eventually leave a stain on the long civil rights legacy of his auspicious family. For many Americans it seems to be that our officials who make proclamations that they are duty bound to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies domestic and foreign do not take their duty very seriously and firmly believe that that solemn oath does not apply to them. That no matter who is in charge of this country true Justice does not apply to those who need it the most. For the common man the truth of the American Dream has become a lie and the dream a nightmare and the promise of Justice for American families and children is just a dream deferred.
